Welcome to The Barony of the Steppes, the branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism in Dallas, Texas, and surrounding cities. For four decades, The Steppes as been an active and influential branch of the SCA, here in the Central Region of the Stellar Kingdom of Ansteorra.

The SCA is a historical recreation organization. We study both the broad history and the day-to-day activities of individual lives of Medieval and Renaissance history. We go beyond the books to make history come alive. The clothing, the combat, the music, the art, and the sciences—it's all a part of being a member of the SCA.
