Eistelfold

The competition to determine the Premier Bard of Ansteorra will be hosted, once again, by the Barony of the Steppes at Twelfth Night.

The competition will be a non-paired double elimination competition.

Each performer will perform one piece each round and the judge(s) will pick the top half. Those in the top half get a “win,” those in the bottom half get a “loss.” You will continue to perform until you have two losses (being in the bottom half). Therefore, each entrant will get to perform at least twice.

The number of rounds will depend on the number of competitors. Winning will likely take upwards of 5 pieces. Extra consideration will be given for those displaying breadth and variety in their performance. Period pieces are also a plus, for me at least.

The Premier Bard is expected to travel, perform, promote performance arts, and be available for Royal requests as the need arises.

If you have questions about the duties of this position or the competition itself, you are welcome to contact the Lord Premier Bard of Ansteorra Brian O hUilliam (brianoftheloch@gmail.com).
